5 articles⚠️ IMPORTANT — First Time Tradovate Setup Required
If this is your first time using a Tradovate/Ninjatrader account with Top One Futures, the very first thing you must do is complete and sign the Market Data Subscriber Certification.
This step is mandatory, and you must select Non-Professional to avoid professional data fees.
It only needs to be done one time when you first use Tradovate with Top One Futures.
You do not need to repeat this process every time you receive a new account.
1. Go to Your Dashboard
➡️ Visit portal.toponefutures.com and log in to your trader dashboard.
In the Accounts list, locate your new Tradovate account.
2. Open Your Tradovate Credentials
Click Accounts in the left hand menu.
Find your account in the list. If you have several accounts, you can use the filters at the top (All Accounts, All Sizes, All Phases, and the Hide Failed toggle) to narrow it down.
Click on the account you want to access.
Click Credentials.
This will open a window showing:
Username
Password
Platform
These credentials belong to your Tradovate/NinjaTrader user profile, and all of your Tradovate/NinjaTrader-based Top One Futures accounts will always be linked under this same login.
To connect, go to:

3. Log In to Tradovate
Enter the exact credentials shown in your dashboard, then press Log In.
4. Sign the Market Data Subscriber Certification (first time only)
If this is your first time logging in, you will automatically be prompted with the:
Market Data Subscriber Certification
You will see a screen titled UNIFORM SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT.
⚠️ CRITICAL STEP — Select Non-Professional
❗ Make sure you choose NON-PROFESSIONAL. Selecting the incorrect option will prevent access to real-time data and will incur a substantial monthly data fee billed to you.
When asked to select your status:
✔ Choose: Non-Professional
❌ Do NOT select: Professional
Once selected, press Next to submit the agreement.
5. You’re All Set — Accessing the Tradovate Platform
Once you’ve submitted the Non-Professional market data certification, you will be logged in automatically.
At this point, your Tradovate account is successfully activated and ready to use.
You will now see the Trading Mode selection screen, where you can choose how you want to enter the platform.
6. Select “Tradovate Prop – Simulation”
To access your Top One Futures Evaluation or funded account, make sure to choose:
👉 Tradovate prop — Simulation
This is the correct mode for all Top One Futures traders.
Do not choose Market Replay unless you want to practice historical data only.
Click Access Simulation to continue.
7. Start Trading with Your New Account
You have now completed the full setup, signed the Market Data Subscriber Certification, and successfully logged into the Tradovate platform.
Your Tradovate account is ready, and you can begin trading immediately.
Prefer Using a Desktop Platform?
Tradovate also offers a full Desktop Platform for both Windows and MacOS.

Here’s a quick recap:

Once you have these credentials ready, you can continue connecting your account to NinjaTrader.
2. How to Trade on NinjaTrader Web or Download NinjaTrader Desktop
If you want to connect your Tradovate account to the NinjaTrader platform, you must first log in through the official NinjaTrader account portal.
How to Access NinjaTrader
Log in using your Tradovate credentials (the same username and password found in your Top One Futures dashboard under the 🔑 key icon)
Once logged in, you will have two options:
Option A — Launch NinjaTrader Web
Click Launch Web Platform inside the portal
This will open NinjaTrader Web, where you can trade immediately using your Tradovate-linked account.
After launching, you will be redirected to the Trading Modes selection screen.
This works exactly the same way as on the Tradovate website.
To access your Top One Futures account, make sure you select:
➡️ NinjaTrader Prop – Simulation: Access Simulation
This is the correct mode for trading your Tradovate Prop account through NinjaTrader Web.
Option B — Download NinjaTrader Desktop (MacOS is not supported)
If you want to trade on the Ninjatrader Desktop platform:
In the same portal, click Download Ninjatrader Desktop
Install NinjaTrader on your computer
After installation, find Ninjatrader on your device and use your Tradovate credentials to connect (see step 3)
3. How to Log In to NinjaTrader Desktop and Access the Platform
After installing NinjaTrader Desktop, locate the application on your device and open it.
When the login window appears, enter your Tradovate username and password, the same credentials shown in your Top One Futures dashboard (see Step 1).
At this stage, you are logged in, and your Tradovate accounts should appear in the Accounts panel inside NinjaTrader.
Note:
If you do not see your accounts:
Go to the Connections tab at the top
Select Simulation
Wait a few seconds while it connects
When the connection is successful, a green status light will show beside the connection name and in the lower-left area of the Control Center. Your Tradovate accounts should appear in the platform as expected.

If you happen to log in using different Tradovate credentials than the ones assigned by Top One Futures, the connection process will work differently. In that situation, you’ll need to:
Turn on Multi-Provider mode
Connect through My NinjaTrader in the Connections tab
Full instructions for this alternative setup can be found in NinjaTrader’s official FAQ article:

NinjaTrader performs routine maintenance throughout the week.
During these maintenance windows, new accounts cannot be created and will remain in a pending queue until maintenance is completed.
If you purchase a Tradovate / Ninjatrader account during these hours, it may not appear immediately. This is normal and expected.
Below is the official NinjaTrader maintenance schedule.
NinjaTrader Maintenance Schedule (Central Time – CT)
| Type | Days | Time (CT) |
|---|---|---|
| Weekday Maintenance | Monday – Thursday | 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM CT |
| Friday Maintenance | Friday | 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM CT |
| Weekend Maintenance | Saturday – Sunday | Saturday 10:00 PM – Sunday 6:30 AM CT |
What This Means for Your Purchase:
When maintenance is active:
New Tradovate/Ninjatrader accounts cannot be created immediately
Any purchase made during these windows will be placed in a queue
Your account will automatically be created once NinjaTrader’s maintenance has finished
There is no action needed from you
Support cannot manually speed up the creation during maintenance
How Long Will It Take After Maintenance Ends?
Once NinjaTrader finishes maintenance:
Your account is in the queue and is usually created within 15 minutes
In some cases, it may take a little longer depending on system load
Rest assured, you will receive your account as soon as NinjaTrader processes the queue.
Why Does This Happen?
All Tradovate-based accounts (including Top One Futures accounts) depend on NinjaTrader’s backend systems.
When NinjaTrader is offline for maintenance, account creation is temporarily paused.
This affects all prop firms using Tradovate/NinjaTrader, not only us.
Still Don’t See Your Account After Maintenance?
If maintenance has already ended and your account still hasn’t appeared:
📩 Email us: support@toponefutures.com
💬 Or message us through live chat
We’re happy to check the status for you.
ATM (Advanced Trade Management) Strategies in NinjaTrader Desktop allow you to automatically place Stop Loss and Take Profit orders and add optional automation such as breakeven and trailing stops. They help make trade management faster and more consistent.
Below is everything you need to know when using ATM Strategies with a Tradovate-backed Top One Futures trading account.
What Are ATM Strategies? (Quick Overview) ⚙️
ATM Strategies allow you to predefine:
🎯 Take Profit
🛑 Stop Loss
🧮 Trade quantity
↗️ Auto Breakeven
📉 Auto Trail (trailing stop)
🔁 OCO behavior
🗂️ Multi-target layouts
💾 Saved ATM templates
They are completely optional. You can trade manually or use ATMs for convenience and consistency.
⚠️ ATM Strategies Are 100% Client-Side
This is the most important thing to understand.
ATM Strategies do not run on the server.
They do not run on Tradovate.
They run only on your local NinjaTrader Desktop.
Because of this, ATM features work only when NinjaTrader Desktop is open, running, and connected.
If your NinjaTrader Desktop isn’t running, the ATM cannot calculate, or send any instructions to the server.
You enter a trade and your ATM strategy immediately places a Stop Loss and Take Profit.
Those orders are now on the server, so they stay active.
But, if you have any of these, they will be impact when you are disconnected in any way:
The trailing stop will stop trailing
The breakeven trigger will not activate
No further ATM updates will happen
Many other features not updating
Your original TP and SL that was placed will stay as they have been received by the server, but all automation stops.
This scenario is very important, because many traders assume ATM Strategies will still trigger even if they disconnect.
They will not.
Here is exactly what happens:
1️⃣ You place a limit order with an ATM Strategy selected
(placed limit orders are server-side, so they are received on Tradovate’s server)
2️⃣ NinjaTrader Desktop disconnects
(computer off, platform closed, sleep mode, internet drop, etc.)
3️⃣ Price reaches your limit order → the order fills on the server
4️⃣ But… your ATM Strategy never activates, because NinjaTrader Desktop wasn’t connected at the moment of the fill.
This means:
❌ No Stop Loss is submitted
❌ No Take Profit is submitted
❌ No OCO is created
❌ No trailing or breakeven can run
❌ Your trade is unprotected
The platform must be online at the moment the order fills in order for ATM instructions to be sent.
To keep ATM Strategies working correctly, your computer must remain:
✔ Turned on
✔ Connected to the internet
✔ Running NinjaTrader Desktop
✔ Not in sleep / hibernation mode
✔ Not disconnected
Top One Futures Disclaimer
Top One Futures is not responsible for ATM Strategies failing due to:
Internet disconnection
Closing NinjaTrader Desktop
Device shutdown
Platform crashes
Sleep/hibernation mode
Power outages
Any local device issues
ATM logic is fully client-side and depends entirely on the trader’s system and
connection.
Recommended Safety Tip
Always verify that your Stop Loss and Take Profit are active on the Tradovate Web Platform:
If TP/SL orders do not appear there, they are not active, and your ATM Strategy did not send them to the server.
Any other features that updates these orders (trailing stop, auto-breakeven, etc. will not work when disconnected to Ninjatrader Desktop, even when the TP/SL orders are
correctly placed on the server-side.
